Porto after dark
Galerias de Paris and Candido dos Reis are two narrow streets where the whole city drinks, largely standing outside with plastic cups until the small hours. Nothing opens before eleven. What to eat in Porto

Restaurants bring couvert, the bread, olives and cheese, and it is charged unless you send it back. Gaia across the bridge is a separate municipality and its lodge tours often cost less.
When the weather turns in Porto
It rains more here than in most of Iberia, so covered options matter. Bolhao's restored hall and the Mercado Ferreira Borges are both roofed. Serralves, the Palacio da Bolsa tour and Livraria Lello are indoors. A Gaia port lodge tour is entirely cellars and tasting rooms, and the cable car down to them from the bridge is glazed against the weather.
