Where to stay in Cologne
Cologne is small enough that no central Veedel is badly placed — the Stadtbahn and a pair of legs cover almost everything, and the walk from the Dom to the Belgian Quarter takes about twenty minutes. So the question is not distance, it is what you want outside the front door: cathedral spires and tour groups, wine bars and shopfronts, club nights, an ordinary residential street, or the river.
