What first-timers get wrong in Lugano
Ask for the Ticino Ticket at check-in. It comes free with any night booked in the canton and covers buses, trains and funiculars across Ticino, plus reductions on the lake boats, so buying transport separately is money thrown away. The railway station stands above the town, linked to Piazza Cioccaro by a short funicular; the stairs are brutal with luggage.
