There is barely any, and that is the honest answer. The crowd gathers instead at Puu Kekaa in Kaanapali for the sunset cliff-diving ceremony, or on a luau lawn. Charley's in Paia and the Lahaina music rooms cover live bands. Most kitchens stop serving around nine. The genuine evening event is stargazing: drive back up Haleakala after dark, where no sunrise permit applies.
