Luang Prabang after dark
There is barely any, by design, because this is a UNESCO town under a curfew: bars along the Nam Khan shut around 23:00 to 23:30, and Utopia on the riverbank closes at 23:00 sharp. What follows has become a small ritual, with everyone decamping by tuk-tuk to the bowling alley on the road out of town, which keeps serving well past midnight as the only late venue.
Luang Prabang with kids, realistically
The compact peninsula is walkable and largely traffic-calmed, making this one of the easier Southeast Asian towns with young children.
