What first-timers get wrong in Dubai
There is no cash accepted on the Metro or buses at all, so buy a nol Silver card for AED 25, which includes AED 19 of travel credit, or a AED 2 red ticket for a handful of journeys. Fares are AED 3, 5 or 7.50 by zone and daily spending caps near AED 14. The Gold cabin costs double. Friday is a half-day and the weekend is Saturday and Sunday.
Dubai's museums, and which one to pick
The Museum of the Future, a steel torus wrapped in Arabic calligraphy on Sheikh Zayed Road, sells out days ahead and is experiential rather than object-based.
