Buy a City Pass Small before you leave the airport: it covers zones one to four including the Kastrup metro run for 100 kroner over 24 hours. Never walk in a cycle lane, which is treated as a road and behaves like one. Tipping is not expected because service is included. Card payment is close to universal and some places decline cash entirely.
Copenhagen's museums, and which one to pick
The Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek is Carl Jacobsen's brewery fortune turned into antiquities and French sculpture, arranged around a domed winter garden of palms that is worth the entry by itself. SMK covers the Danish Golden Age, Designmuseum Danmark tells the story largely through chairs, and the National Museum holds the Viking material. Louisiana, thirty-five minutes north by train to Humlebaek, justifies the day trip.
