Krabi with kids, realistically
Ao Nang works better with children than Railay, which needs a boat for every errand and has a tidal mudflat on its eastern side. Longtails carry no ladders and little shade, so check life jacket sizes before boarding. Emerald Pool's warm water and the hot springs waterfall suit all ages. What's actually worth your time in Krabi
Only a longtail reaches Railay, 100 baht from Ao Nang and fifteen minutes across, and its limestone walls, Phra Nang cave beach and climbing routes are the reason to come to Krabi at all.
