Skip Vikingsholm with toddlers unless you are willing to carry one four hundred vertical feet back up.
When the weather turns in Lake Tahoe
Summer weather here means brief afternoon thunderstorms; the real disruption is snow, which closes passes rather than plans. Wet or stormed-in days go to the Donner Memorial visitor centre, casino floors and cinemas at Stateline, bowling, and the shops at Heavenly Village. When chain controls go up on I-80 and US-50, staying put is genuinely the correct decision.
