Kraków's museums, and which one to pick
The Rynek Underground museum sits several metres below the main square on the excavated medieval market level and closes on the second Monday of each month. The Rynek's horse carriages and square-side terraces both charge tourist rates, and the same meal two streets away is half the price. Transit is 4 zloty for twenty minutes or 25 zloty for 24 hours, valid across all zones. Auschwitz-Birkenau needs a booked entry slot and is ninety minutes away, so it is not a spontaneous afternoon.
