Book through licensed hotel apartments or a DCT-registered holiday-home operator, and treat an inability to confirm this as a reason to walk away.

Who a rental suits
Rentals suit families and groups wanting more space and a kitchen, and travelers staying a week or more who’d rather cook some meals and do laundry than eat every meal out. Short city-and-sights trips of a few nights are often simpler and better value in a hotel.
Verify before you book
- That the listing is DCT-licensed and run by a registered operator with a clear, reviewed identity — the first check, not an afterthought.
- Which island the unit is actually on, and the real taxi/drive time to the sights you care about.
- Whether a pool or beach access is private, shared, or a separate paid facility.
- Air-conditioning performance and reliability — non-negotiable given the climate for most of the year.
- Parking availability if you plan to rent a car, since distances make driving common here.
- Recent reviews mentioning cleanliness, responsiveness, and whether the listed amenities (gym, pool, beach shuttle) actually operate.
Where to look for rentals
For apartments, Downtown/Al Markaziyah and Al Reem Island offer the widest choice and the best access to everyday restaurants and supermarkets. Saadiyat has a smaller pool of villa-style and serviced rentals nearer the beach and museums; Yas Island rentals put you closest to the theme parks but furthest from downtown culture.
